Impulse Bodyspray

My friend recently received a pack of Impulse bodysprays to review and she was kind enough to share them with me for an honest review in return. Now isn't that just sweet.. A big shout out to my girl Taz! ! Whoop Whoop!

Anyhow back to my review, to be honest, I haven't really used Impulse sprays since high school which was like ages ago... No specifics, and no,  I'm not old...

Now I'm a lover of sweet scents, think Britney Spears Fantasy,  Taylor Swift Wonderstruck,  Elizabeth Arden Pretty and my all time favorite Versace Bright Crystal. . So it's no surprise that I immediately gravitated towards the Paris. It has a beautiful sweet scent which is neither sickly sweet nor overwhelming.  It has a blend of bergamot, tangerine and muguet scents. It mellows down to a powdery sherbet smell.

Now the Dynamique in my opinion is a fresh, clean out of the shower scent. It is a blend of musky vanilla and Amber notes. Ideal for straight out of the gym when you want to have that "clean, just showered " smell.

Now something that is unique with these bodysprays is the new twist cap, so no more losing those pesky little things.

Although both smell amazing they don't tend to be long lasting on their own but maybe after layering it would be different.

Would I purchase these? Definitely!  For R20 they are well worth the price.

Elancyl Anti Cellulite Product Review

So, I'm super excited to have received an ELANCYL product hamper from Rubybox to trial and review. The hamper contained full size product samples of Elancyl Cellu Slim Night, Cellu-Slim Anti Stubborn Cellulite Action and the Activ Slimming in Shower massage gel.

Now most of us suffer from some form of cellulite but would not be caught dead admitting to it but it affects 90% of the female population. Even skinny people get cellulite and it is caused by numerous factors..

This product claims to show a visible reduction in just 28 days when combined with healthy eating plan and exercise. Now I am fairly active and TRY to eat healthy most of the time so let's just keep our fingers crossed. .

☆Review☆ Nimue Phase 1

Today I'm super excited to be doing a review on the Nimue phase 1 range..
Firstly a big thank you to both Rubybox and Nimue for sending me a FULL SIZE starter pack to trial and if that's not already awesome enough I also received a complimentary voucher for an Active Rejuvenation Treatment valued at R490. .

It's been 2 weeks now since I've started using the products and these are my opinions so let's get started.

Nimue Cleansing Gel Lite

This is a soap free 2 in 1 cleansing gel with a ph4.5. It claims to gently remove makeup and dirt with gentle exfoliating properties.
My take on it: It has a cute dispenser pump and about 3 squirting (4 if I have makeup on) is enough to clean up my face. It leaves my face with a nice smooth silky feeling and does not have that tight feeling you get from soap cleansers. It has a very light citrus fragrance that goes away in about 2 minutes.

Nimue Conditioner Lite

This product claims to degrease the skin with added exfoliation properties. 

My take on it: Again, I love the cute dispenser pump (what can I say, I'm a sucker for gadgety things ☺). You're supposed to spray 3 sprays onto a piece of dry or damp gauze and apply to clean skin. I spray it direct onto my face, eyes closed (coz I'm lazy like that 😛). It does leave my skin feeling nice and fresh but nothing special other than that. Oh and if you use it after using the exfoliating enzyme , do expect a stinging sensation,  but it doesn't last long, around a minute or less.. Would not really buy again as I find it to be just another toner but in a snazzy bottle.

Exfoliating Enzyme

The product description : is a non - irritating,  non abrasive enzymatic exfoliate.  Contains papaya and pineapple enzymes that work to gently detach dead skin cells, promoting skin renewal.

My take: Now this for me is the winner, I absolutely love it.. At first glance I didn't expect much as I though what good is an exfoliate that doesn't exactly scrub your skin, bleh!. But on applying the gel to my skin, it has a warm feeling, almost like warm honey (or hot wax but with a nicer feeling). I just love it when I can actually really FEEL  something happening with a product.  So you apply it, leave it on for 2 minutes,  then massage with wet fingertips to reactivate, leave on for a further 5 minutes then remove with wet gauze. I just used a wet facecloth when my gauze was finished. My skin felt amazing, looked a bit red, for a few minutes but came right after 5 minutes. My nose felt smoother.. I was in heaven..

Nimue Purifier 

The product description : A skin clarifying night preparation for the control and management of problematic skin.

My take: I haven't been using this product daily by when my time of the month popped by, the dreaded "period pimple " started to rear it's ugly head so I gave this bad boy a try. After cleansing and conditioner, I applied a little of the purifier to the pimple (which was very sore) and went to bed. When I got up the next morning the pimple was completely gone. # totally amazing

Nimue Moisturizer Lite

Product Description : A day and/or night preparation with functional properties to improve skin texture, hydrate the skin and balance oil production.

My take : I have very oily skin, especially in summer, and I was quite surprised by this moisturizer.  It non greasy and indeed does feel light. Would I buy it again? Not really as it is quite expensive and there are alot of cheaper oil free moisturizers out there.

Nimue SPF40 Sunscreen 

Product description : Light-weight, non-oily emulsion base that offers a dual focus in providing a certified high broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and anti-aging benefits to assist in reducing and preventing the visible signs of photo aging.

My take: Now anyone with oily (and dark) skin will tell you that we are absolutely terrified of using a sunscreen under makeup for 2 reason. 1) We end up looking like an oil slick and 2) that white mask.. But I decided to brave it out and was once again pleasantly  surprised.  No oiliness or white haze whatsoever FOR THE ENTIRE DAY..

Overall I'm very pleased with the Nimue range, all of the products live up to their expectations.  Even though others cannot see a difference in my skin I can feel the difference in terms of it being a smoother texture and more rejuvenated. Although I will not repurchase the entire range, due to the cost factor, I will repurchase the exfoliating enzyme.
